Etoile d' Or Viverols

Go back in time in this wonderful quiet and peaceful accomodation. In this beautiful convent dating back to the XIX century and located in the pittoresque village of Viverols, in the Auvergne. Here we have created a gite equipped with all modern comforts. Even on the hot summer days, the temperature in the gite stays nice and cool due to the ancient thick walls of the convent.  

There is a BBQ in the garden to have a nice summer meal.

Parking is on the grounds behind a fence.

Two mountain bikes are available however if you need casques you will have to bring them yourself.

There is also a covered motorcycle shed. 

Entering the apartment through your private entrance from the garden you find yourself in the gîte which has a large living area with a modern open plan kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipes and designed to prepare wonderful meals using the beautiful local products. There's a dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator freezer, etc and a dining area.

In the living room there's a sofa bed with the possibility to sleep two. There's a Smart Tv, board games and books for relaxing. The bedroom is spacious with a queen size bed, nightstands, two wardrobes and bathroom ensuite. The bathroom has two antique sinks, a walk in shower and a towel radiator.      

Viverols is a village with an extensive history, which can still be seen in the remains of the old castle, where guided tours are also given. It is a small village with a lot of character and friendly people. Everything is there, the local boulangerie with, in addition to bread and pastry, also delicious cheeses and wine. The butcher, a small Casino supermarket, hair salon, etc are all within a distance of 500 meters from the gite. There is also a nice French restaurant "La P'tite Chaise" 450 meters away where you can enjoy French cuisine or a drink.

The old école des frères from the XIX century, where the apartment is located, is located on the edge of the village with a lovely garden. There are many hiking trails, there is a hiking guide with trails in the gite. The beautiful river l'Ance flows through the landscape. Every Tuesday there is a market on the village square with delicious local products. The Montpeloux volcano with its basalt columns is a ten minute drive away and has concerts under the stars in the summer.

For a day trip, Le Puy en Velay is highly recommended, this beautiful medieval city is located on the Santiago de Compostella pilgrimage route. The enormous Madonna statue and church constructed on the old volcano peaks are impressive. In summer, many beautiful monuments and buildings in the city are illuminated with a light show.

Furthermore, the Saturday morning market in Montbrison is fantastic, with many stalls where you can enjoy regional products and the market was chosen as the most beautiful market in France in 2019.
