In the basement we have a large livingroom, about 40 m2 with a small open kitchen and two bedrooms with two single beds and in a corner of the livingroom another two single beds.
There is a luxurious bathroom with toilet and shower.
There is a possibility to cook your meal in the kitchenette.
You have also a Weber barbecue and a Skottel braai at your disposal.
We also have a baby crib, wireless internet
The rooms have been remodelled recently, are tastefully decorated and have big clean(!) beds.
Our guests reviewed the basement until now very positively: “very complete” or “everything is there” or “everything is perfect” or “great beds” or “lovely hot tub”, in short, a place to spend a comfortable and relaxing holiday.
The rent is including linen.
So, there is nothing you have to bring along!
The Hautes Alpes have some unmistakably mediterranean touches: there is sunshine 300 days a year and the villages bear a slight likeness to the villages in the south.
The varied landscape offers the possibility to exercise both winter and summers sports.
In the heart of the Hautes Alpes lies the sunny Serre Ponçon.
This lake is situated at an altitude of 750 meters and has a surface of about 29 square km, which makes it the largest artificial lake in Europe.
The Lac Serre Ponçon is a reservoir.
The dam (built between 1955 and 1961) is 124 meters high and 630 meters wide.
On the shores of the lake you will find three villages: Embrun, Chorges and Savines-le-Lac.
In total 1500 people were relocated for the construction of the lake.
One of the two villages that had to move was Savines, which has now become our village, Savines-le-Lac.
The other village, which has completely disappeared, was Ubaye, named after the river that flows into the lake together with the Durance.
The 20 km long lake has a surface of more than 29 square km and contains more than 1.2 billion cubic meters of water.
This water is used to generate electrical energy.
Inside and behind the dam facilities have been constructed to generate 700 million kilowatt-hours per year.
The dam is also used to control the river Durance, which assures irrigation and the supply of drinking water.
